- Save your document.
- If you do not want to replace throughout the entire document, select
the part of the document to be searched.
- From the Edit menu, choose Replace.
- Enter the text or mathematics you want to find in the Search for box.
- Enter the replacement text or mathematics in the Replace with box.
- Select the options you need:
- Choose Whole Words Only to find only separate words or objects, not
characters that are part of another word or object.
- Choose Exact Case to find only those words that have the specified
pattern of upper- and lowercase letters.
- Choose Search Backward to search backward from the current position.
- To begin the search
- Choose Find Next if you want to confirm each replacement. When the
program finds an occurrence of the search pattern, choose Replace to make
the change or Find Next to leave the occurrence unchanged and continue the
search.
- Choose Replace All to make all changes without confirming each one.
- When the program reaches the end of the document, it asks if you want
to continue the search.
- Choose OK to search the remainder of the document.
- Choose Cancel to stop.
The program saves the search and replacement patterns when you close a
session unless you specify otherwise in User SetupUser_setup.tex.
