$\blacktriangleright$    To create and test an exam

  1. In Scientific Notebook, create a source file and enter the content of your exam, following the instructions below and in the other chapters of this guide.

  2. Save the source file with a .tex extension:

    1. ClickitbpF19.5625pt18.8125pt2ptfilesave.wmf, or from the File menu, choose Save.

    2. If you haven't saved the file before, give the file a name.

Scientific Notebook automatically saves the file with a .tex extension.

  3. Leave the source file open and save the source file again, this time with a .qiz extension:

    1. From the File menu, choose Save As.

    2. In the File name area, enter the file name.

    3. In the Save as Type area, choose Quiz (*.qiz).

    4. Choose Save.

  4. Close and reopen the .qiz file.

The Exam Builder compiles the source file, generating an instance of the exam.

  5. Read through the generated exam, noting any changes you need to make, and then close the .qiz file.

  6. Reopen the source file and make the changes.

  7. Save the source file twice, once with a .tex extension and once with a .qiz extension.

  8. Repeat steps 4–7 as often as necessary to test the questions and complete the exam.
