Defined Functions

You can create a plot of a function defined in spherical coordinates ρ = ρ(θ, φ).

$\blacktriangleright$ To make a spherical plot of a defined function ρ of θ and φ

1.
Define ρ as a function of θ and φ using New Definition on the Define submenu.

2.
Select the function name ρ or select the expression ρ(θ, φ).

3.
From the Plot 3D submenu, choose Spherical.

\end{example}

Note The Switch Variables option is not available for a plot that depends only on the function name.
