Stopping a Computation

Most computations are done more or less instantaneously, but some may take several minutes to complete, and some may take a longer time. So it is convenient to be able to make Scientific Notebook stop computing and return control to you.

To stop a computation

• Click the stop sign itbpF0.3105in0.3009in0.0701inabort.wmfon the Stop toolbar.

• Press CTRL + BREAK.

  
  

Try it out by applying Factor to 2⁹¹ + 3. Scientific Notebook will factor this expression in several minutes, but you can stop the computation if you wish.
