Spacing between words and between mathematical objects is automatically determined by the document styleStyle.tex, but you can use the Spacing command on the Insert menuInsert_menu_commands.tex to add additional horizontal space to your content. On the screen, the program shows horizontal space as a small horizontal line; the line doesn't appear in print. These spaces are available:
Space | Size |
---|---|
Em space | width of M |
2-em space | width of MM |
Normal | 1/6 em |
Required | 1/6 em |
Non-breaking | 1/6 em |
Thin space | 2/9 em |
Thick space | 5/18 em |
Zero space | 0 em |
Negative thin space | -2/9 em |
Italic correction | depends on character to the left |
Custom spaceCustom_space.tex | as specified |
In addition, the Horizontal Space dialog box contains the No indent item, which causes the program to ignore an indentation called for by the style.
