A dialog box is a special window for choosing additional options. Dialog boxes contain option and command buttons, lists, check boxes and fields for entering text and mathematics. The insertion point appears as a blinking vertical line or a small dotted box.
If a button or command is darkened, the option is available.
If a button or command is dimmed, the option is not available.
Many dialog boxes retain the settings you used the last time you opened the dialog box.
