Scientific Notebook uses a number of different methods to display characters. We have gone through considerable effort to display as many of the standard mathematical symbols and characters as possible without having to install additional fonts, drivers, or other software. For most users, this will be more than sufficient.
To display the full range of characters, however, Scientific Notebook uses a combination of Unicode characters and proprietary fonts, to provide the largest possible character set. For this to work correctly, you must add Multilanguage support and set the font mapping option to ``Use Universal Fonts.''
To set the font mapping option to ``Use Universal Fonts, follow these steps:
All of the characters that Scientific Notebook had been displaying as question marks will now appear as characters. This change will not, however, allow Scientific Notebook to display all of the characters it is capable of displaying. To see Cyrillic, or the European Latin and Extended Latin characters found in Sample_Article.tex, you must install Multilanguage support from your Windows 95 CD-ROM, according to these instructions:
