Exam Builder source files must be organized in sections. Source files begin with a front section that identifies the file as an Exam Builder source file. The front section contains additional sections that set up certain features of the exam, such as any text that appears at the top of the exam or the values of global variables.
The front section is followed by a series of question-and-answer sections, one for each question on the exam. In turn, each question section contains additional sections that provide a problem statement, a series of possible answers or a space where the student can enter a free-form answer, and, optionally, both simple and detailed explanations of the problem solution. The sections can contain tables, graphics, matrices, 2D and 3D plots, and any other elements that can be contained in Scientific Notebook files.
Each section in the source file must begin with a section heading, although the level of the heading is unimportant. The Exam Builder ignores the level of the heading, but you may find different heading levels useful when you're organizing the material in your source file.
