Scientific Notebook can automatically maintain backup files of your document each time the document is saved. The backup copy has the same file name as the original document, but with a .bak extension. Each new backup copy replaces the previous one.
If you cannot open a Scientific Notebook document for some reason and the backup feature was in effect the last time you worked on the document, you can open the backup copy of the document.
