NetLoad - Version 3.7b - Release 3rd August 1997 ------------------------------------------------ A FILE TRANSFER UTILITY DESIGNED TO GIVE UNPARALLELED EASE OF USE TO WEB DEVELOPERS UPDATING WEB SITES Internet: http://www.aerosoft.com.au/netLoad email: andrew@aerosoft.com.au Contact: Andrew McLean Thank you for downloading the evaluation copy of NetLoad. Online documentation is available at: http://www.aerosoft.com.au/netload/help A help file will be available soon. Installation ------------ Unzip the file and place it in the directory of your choice. Now simply run NetLoad. What is NetLoad? ---------------- NetLoad is a smart file transfer system which maintains remote sites using conventional FTP. It transfers new or updated files, and also recreates entire directory structures on the remote site, removes old files and old directories. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE READ THE DETAILS ON THE DOWNLOAD PAGE AT THE WEB SITE BECAUSE NETLOAD WILL DELETE FILES FROM EITHER YOUR PC OR FTP SERVER DEPENDING ON HOW IT NEEDS TO SYNCHRONISE THE TWO SITES. If you see a trash can icon, that file will be deleted when you start the upload/download. About this evaluation version ----------------------------- This evaluation version contacts the NetLoad Permission Server in Australia which gives you 50 FULL transfer sessions of NetLoad. You must be connected to the internet to contact the permission server. If the server cannot be contacted, or the 50 use limit has been reached, NetLoad will only transfer files less than 1024 bytes. The registered version does not contact the permission server, and the startup screen will not be displayed. Starting NetLoad for the first time ----------------------------------- NetLoad has an easy to follow, six step, getting started help screen. Remote File List Caching ------------------------ NetLoad cahces the remote directory once downloaded to save you time. Although NetLoad maintains a perfect list of the remote site, it's wise to press 'refresh' on the remote site to make sure NetLoad's list holds exactly what's there. Mirroring --------- To setup a mirror (download from remote site to your PC) right click on an FTP entry in the list of FTP sites. This will display the upload/download menu. Proceed with the 'compare' and 'download' as per usual. Remember, files will be deleted from your hard disk if the trash can icon is displayed. Online Registration ------------------- Registration is encrypted and sent to our server in Australia. It's as simple as filling out the details and pressing the 'send' button. Please email me if you have comments or bug reports. Cheers, Andrew McLean, Developer Aerosoft, Australia andrew@aerosoft.com.au
