Settings - Performance
The dialog in fig 1 handles two types of disk performance related issues:

When doing file operations, Probe attempts to predict how long time the operation will take. Knowing the actual performance parameters of the drives helps in making more accurate predictions.
Do Disk Performance Analysis Now
Pressing this button will open the ### Disk Performance dialog. The purpose of that dialog is to do disk performance analysis for all disks under My Computer.
Probe has several different strategies for copying/moving files. If a file is sufficiently large, it will use two 'Direct IO Buffers', where two processes use an IO buffer each, for reading the source and writing the target in parallel.
Edit the size for the IO buffers to be used here. When handling large files (>4 mb) frequently, performance can be slightly increased with larger IO buffers.
The number need to be a power of two, such as:
- 32 kb, 64 kb, 128 kb, 256 kb, 512 kb, 1mb, 2 mb, 4 mb
NOTE: Probe uses two IO buffers of the size in this edit box for each concurrent file transfer (disk to disk).
NOTE: Increasing the IO buffers will decrease the amount of RAM available to other applications.
