Multimedia content with Tarantula 1.98

Multimedia content is probably one of the most important features of the Web, making it more interesting for the web-surfer. Simple multimedia content, even as little as a background music for a page, can make browsing a pleasurable and memorable experience.

Tarantula has very strong support for multimedia content. Not only will it allow you to add content to the page, it will also let you play that content right from within Tarantula itself! For example, if you have a wave (.wav) file, you can listen to it right there from the page itself, without loading it in the browser. In fact, you can even play AVI animation files within Tarantula. This helps you to decide on the size and placement of the actual playing clip (you can resize/move the clip even while it is playing). Of course, keeping in mind that newer forms of multimedia appear almost every other day (RealAudio, MP3 etc.), Tarantula allows one to include any existing, and even future content on the page. It has the capability to play the content if your system has MCI drivers for that particular kind of content. Otherwise, with a single click of the mouse, Tarantula will switch the page over to the browser, whose plug-ins will handle the content for you.

This page has background music. It will start up as soon as you load this page in the browser. If you are viewing this document in the browser, the music will already be playing. If you are viewing it in Tarantula, you can press the 'Play' button in the multimedia content controller on the right.
This sound should play in the background.
