4-23-95 B.J. Blazkowicz's ROTT Levels v0.9 ---------------------------------- Included with this file is the file ROTTLVLS.RTL, which contains 5 new levels for the registered version of Rise of the Triad (hand-made levels, not ones created with RandROTT). The first 3 levels are complete, the 4th one is incomplete but has an 'episode end' tile, and and 5th one (which you'll have to warp to in order to reach) is nowhere near done so I stuck a bunch of fire monks in there and a dark staff just for fun. I would make a "RTL authoring template" or something like that, but I'm not going to bother with it yet until RottED v1.1 comes out and I finish the rest of the 8 levels I wanted to add to this set. Here's a run-down of the levels in order: Level 1: "The Old Switch-er-oo" This is my first ROTT level. It uses a lot of the game's tricks, such as gas grates, spinblades, firechutes, floor pits, and SWITCHES! Lots of switches! Where do you think this level gets its name? One of the high points of this level is the pushwall that, once activated via touchplate, proceeds to crush a row of guards. There's a dog mode powerup hidden, too. Level 2: "The Castle" This level is shaped like a castle. You need to get the silver key first, which opens the door to the turret where you can get the gold key. However, the silver key is hidden behind a pushwall. Look for walls that are slightly darker than the rest. The other three turrets are hidden as well as locked, and contain high values of coins. Level 3: "Horrible Hallways" They sure are. All of them are L-shaped and intertwined into an awful maze full of guards, strike teams, and overpatrols. I'll tell you right now that there are only 2 secrets here. It's pretty straightforward. Level 4 (incomplete): "The Courtyard" A mostly outdoor level, taking place at night (in a thunderstorm no less). This level can be completed (ending the whole game), but I will add much more to it in the future. The two keys needed to access every area on this level (Gold & Ocsuro) are here somewhere. Level 5 (waaay incomplete): "Against the Wall" When I get done with this one, that's what you'd better be when you play it. As for right now, though, just warp in, blast a few monks, and warp out. It fill have fog effects added later. Have fun with these levels. I'll be making more of them soon; keep your eye out for them. I would have waited until I finished them all to upload any, but I know some people who are eager to play them so here they are. In case you have any comments or questions (keep your flames to yourself), here's my two E-mail addresses: P.S.: These RTL files really compress well, don't they? 99% ratio with PKZip!
