ICARequest.ResolveDenials

The ResolveDenials property attempts to resolve the denials associated with this request.

Parameters

This property does not take any parameters.

Error Codes

If the property fails, an error is raised and Err.Number is set to a value other than zero.

Return Values

Returns the number of denials that remain unresolved, including denials on components.

Remarks

When this property is retrieved, the ICARequest object performs the following steps:

• If the CAManager.UseDefaultUI property is 1, the object presents a default user interface (UI) for resolving denials. The default UI enables the user to select tolls for payment. If UseDefaultUI is 0, the object skips directly to the next step.
• The request object loops through its denial collection, plus the denial collection of each component in the request.
• For each denial, the request object loops through all the tolls that the user has selected.
• If a selected toll has denials, the request object recursively retrieves the ResolveDenials property. This might (but might not) remove the denials.
• For every toll with no remaining denials, the request object calls the ICAToll.PayToll method. The PayToll method might display another UI, depending on the implementation of that toll. If the PayToll method succeeds, the toll removes the denial.

This property provides some minimal default functionality for resolving denials. It is expected that most applications will not call this method, and will provide their own implementation for this functionality. To do so, the application should respond to RequestDenialAdded events.
