VITC: Vertical Interval Timecode. Timecode information stored in a video signal's vertical blanking interval. It is usually located on one or two lines somewhere between lines 10 and 20.
vertical blanking interval: A synchronizing period in the video signal at which time no active picture information is transmitted.
VPE: Video port extensions. Extensions to the DirectDraw API to control the video stream from the video port within the context of VGA memory.
VTR: Video tape recorder.
