Size/Type Preparation
Static logo To brand the Internet Explorer browser with your logo 38-by-38 and
22-by-22 .bmp files
Create two 256-color bitmaps (38-by-38 pixels and 22-by-22 pixels). Save the files in the custom bitmap folder (CIE\Bitmaps). When the browser isn't active, the first frame of the animated logo will be used as your static logo.
Animated logo To brand the Internet Explorer browser with your animated logo 38-by-38 and
22-by-22 .bmp files
Create two 256-color bitmaps (38-by-38 pixels and 22-by-22 pixels). The bitmaps must contain a vertical stack of animation cell images that follow Internet Explorer animation rules (see below). Save the files in the custom bitmap folder (CIE\Bitmaps). When the browser isn't active, the first frame of the animated logo will be used as your static logo.
Active Setup bitmap   120-by-239,
256-color .bmp file

Toolbar background   No specific dimensions Background should be the size of the toolbar and light enough to show black text.
Autorun splash screen To display a splash screen when the user inserts the CD If you distribute your custom browser on a CD, you need to create bitmaps for the Autorun splash screen that is displayed when the user inserts the CD. Before you create the splash screen, you need to convert any 24-bit images to 256-color identity palette (see Editing Your Graphic.)
Channels   For each channel:
32-by-32 icon,
80-by-32 graphic for channel bar and 194-by-32 graphic for channel pane. 80-by-32 and 194-by-32 can be in .gif, .bmp, or .jpeg format.

Note
Two tools are included with the IEAK to assist you with creating customized animated bitmaps for your browser. One tool is used to stack bitmaps in the format described above, while the other tool previews the animation. For information about how to use these tools, see Animated Bitmap Tools.
