Readme.txt File This file has three main sections: 1) What is Sheet Layout? 2) System Requirements 3) Forward What is Sheet Layout? Sheet Layout (SL) is a program that takes raw material and illustrates how to cut it down into smaller pieces. SL is used with rectangular sheets of material such as plywood, plastic, foam, fabrics, glass, steel, or just about any other flat stock material. SL optimizes the layouts taking into consideration user input cutting parameters such as, cutting preferences, grain direction, saw kerf and many others. It literally considers 10,000's of combinations prior to determining the optimized layout. System Requirements: (1) DOS 3.3 or greater (2) Less than 640K RAM (3) Less than 1 MB Disk Space (4) Files = 10 and Buffers = 10 are minimum requirements for complete operation of the program and all help files. (5) A math co-processor is highly recommended but NOT required. Forward: Congratulations. Sheet Layout (SL) is a state of the art material optimization system. It has been developed during the last seven years to its present form. It will save you a lot of time and money. It increases productivity by saving most of the time you spend calculating part layouts manually. What once took hours now only takes Sheet Layout and minutes. SL is distributed as Shareware. Simply stated, the Shareware concept permits trying the product to determine if it meets your end use requirements prior to paying for the product. There is no warranty offered and I assume absolutely no liability for its use. Your continued use of the product and your voluntary registration of the product is verification that you have tried the product and find it to meet your requirements. Having said that, my goal is to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. The first step is to offer a quality product at a substantially lower price than comparable commercial products. About the only sacrifice you make is giving up phone support during normal working hours. However, after using Sheet Layout for 30 minutes or so, you'll probably note that phone support really isn't necessary. Three (3) registered versions of SL are offered to match the needs and budgets of individuals and corporations. All three registered versions are exactly the same with the exception of the capacity of the optimization program. In addition to capacity restrictions, the evaluation copy also has grain direction control disabled. The capacity of SL is measured by the number different part sizes and the quantity for each size that you can enter for any particular job. The user interface has no limitations, that is, you can enter any number of parts/sizes. However, at optimization run time, any values exceeding the parameters of the version which you have will be "clipped" to the maximum allowable quantities for your registered version. No warnings that part or quantity clipping has taken place are made to the user. See the Program Update screen available from the Main Menu for more details. Best wishes. I hope you benefit greatly from the use of my product. Don Michelotti, 707 Sunlight Drive, Rochester Hills, MI 48309 Reach me through E-Mail.Type the following addresses EXACTLY!
