Program Description College Basketball Tourney is a software program this is designed to help the office pool keeper automate the record keeping that is involved with a college basketball tournament. It is a shareware program, which means it is NOT freeware, nor public domain. This unregistered version is fully functional, but can only handle up to five players in the tournament pool. The registered version can handle an unlimited amount of players. Registration This is a shareware program. If after evaluating the software you decide you like it and want to use it, register by filling out the registration form at the end of this manual. After registering, you will receive the latest version of College Basketball Tourney on floppy diskette. You will also receive notification of any major updates to College Basketball Tourney. All registered users will also receive full technical support. Readme file To install College Basketball Tourney, copy the above files onto a working diskette, or if you have a hard drive, create a new directory and copy the files to that directory (working directory). To execute College Basketball Tourney, change to the working directory containing CBT.EXE, enter CBT and press . Getting Around College Basketball Tourney Use of a mouse is suggested. To get around College Basketball Tourney, click the mouse on the desired button. If you are not using a mouse, press - of desired button. To close a window, except Tourney Main Window, click the close button in the upper left hand corner of the title bar of the window, or press . To refresh the screen, press . Multiple windows can be on the screen at the same time. To make a window active, just click anywhere on that window. This brings the clicked on window to the top of the screen. (-) choosing this will exit College Basketball Tourney and return to DOS. Tourney Setup Window This is the setup window of College Basketball Tourney. It has the following capabilities ... Pool Player Initials ... (-) choosing this will bring up the College Tourney Initials Entry Window. From this window, all players initials are entered and deleted. Team Trees ... (-) choosing this will bring up the College Tourney Team Entry Window. From this window, all teams in the tournament are entered. College Tourney Initials Entry Window This is the initials entry window of College Basketball Tourney. To get a list of all valid initials, click on Compute Pool Standings in the Tourney Main Window. This window has the following capabilities ... Initials ... this field is where the players initials are entered. All players initials must be three characters long. Note: Do not use $$$ as initials. These are required by College Basketball Tourney. Add ... (-) choosing this will add the initials in the initials field as valid initials. If the initials already exist, College Basketball Tourney will give three beeps. Delete ... (-) choosing this will delete the initials in the initials field as valid initials. If the initials do not exist, College Basketball Tourney will give three beeps. College Tourney Team Entry Window This is the college team name entry window of College Basketball Tourney. The numbers to the left of this screen do not represent the seed of the teams. This window has the following capabilities ... Save ... (-) choosing this saves all entered teams in the four divisions. Tourney Picks/Winners Window This is the picks/winners window of College Basketball Tourney. It has the following capabilities ... East ... From this window, a players initials are entered and the corresponding picks are then made, modified, printed, and saved. West ... (-) choosing this will bring up the College Tourney West Picks/Winners window. From this window, a players initials are entered and the corresponding picks are then made, modified, printed, and saved. North ... (-) choosing this will bring up the College Tourney North Picks/Winners window. From this window, a players initials are entered and the corresponding picks are then made, modified, printed, and saved. South ... From this window, a players initials are entered and the corresponding picks are then made, modified, printed, and saved. Last Four ... To make a pick and advance a team, just click on the desired team. The team will then show up in the button to the left or right, depending on which half of the screen the buttons are. Continue until all picks are made. This window has the following capabilities ... Initials ... this is where a persons initials are entered. They must be three characters. They also must already have been entered as valid initials in the College Tourney Initials Entry Window. If invalid initials are entered in this field and an Update or Save is attempted, College Basketball Tourney will give three beeps. Update ... (-) choosing this will update all buttons with the picks of the players initials entered in the Initials field. Save ... (-) choosing this will save the picks on the screen for the players initials entered in the Initials field. Print ... (-

Suggested Step to Follow When Setting Up Your Pool The following steps in setting up your office pool are suggested ... 1. From the College Tourney Initials Entry Window, enter in all participants initials. 2. From the College Tourney Team Entry Window, enter in all participating teams. 3. From the Picks Window, enter in a participants initials, make the corresponding picks, and save the picks. 4. Print out a copy of the picks for the participant. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed until all participants are entered. 6. Update team progress as needed in the Winners Window. 7. Print out standings and distribute as needed. Agreement Terms 1.
