Disclaimer ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Additional Installation Information for Windows 95 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WinCurl 2.0 has been partially developed and fully tested under Windows 95. Even though WinCurl 2.0 is compatible and runs under Windows 95, it has not been developed to the Windows 95 standard, nor is it 32-bit software. WinCurl 2.0 is 16 bit Windows 3.x software. To install under Windows 95, you can run the "Install/De-install Software" icon in Control Panel; or, you can simply run SETUP.EXE from My Computer, Explorer, or whichever "file manager" you use. Keep in mind, installing from the "Install/De-install Software" icon will not create a de-install option. This is specific to Windows 95 software. Should you wish to de-install WinCurl 2.0 from a Windows 95 machine, simply delete the WinCurl 2.0 directory and it's subdirectories. Again, this can be done using My Computer, Explorer, or whichever "file manager" you use. While installing WinCurl 2.0 under Windows 95, you'll see mention of Program Manager and Program Groups. Ignore this. The installation will create a menu item for WinCurl 2.0 in your Program Menu under START. Ie. A folder of shortcuts (called Wincurl2) will be created under C:\windows\Start Menu\Programs\. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Technical Support ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Should you need technical support after exhausting this README.TXT, the user's manual, and the online help... If you are having problems with WinCurl, first read the section regarding Installation Notes. If you continue to have problems, you should attempt to isolate the problem and narrow it down. You can narrow a problem down by turning the sound card option off, trying various video resolutions (eg. 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768), trying the standard video resolutions that come with Windows. Many video cards use their own specific drivers, to ensure the problem is not with these video drivers, try the Windows default drivers for VGA and Super VGA. After you've exhausted all avenues to not avail, document your findings and send it us at the below addresses. For information on ordering more copies of WinCurl, see the Help Menu. World Wide Web Page ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is a WWW Home Page located at: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/GenoSajko It contains product, order, new release information. There is also a page devoted to WinCurl tips. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Rock trails ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Running a program such as the "Windows clock" program, that always stays on top of everything, will result in the pieces of the clock program being displayed, trailing a rock in animation. The best solution is to close down such programs before starting WinCurl. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A.
