jpz -- Last update 11/30/99 Well, through Herculean efforts Adrian and I have managed to get an IFLI version of the jpeg decoder working in 64K. There are a few bytes free in pages 0, 1, and 2, and that's all. Mega-kudos to Adrian. The SCPU version is significantly faster than the stock version, to the tune of 20 seconds versus four and a half minutes. There are most certainly pictures which will cause the decoder to crash, due to the tight memory. But as long as the border is blinking, it is chugging away; if it does crash, I think it will crash really, really hard. The sample pictures are just ones I had handy that look nice. Babybob.jpg is a picture of Joshua Stoner and his dad. I think maurice2.jpg with row/col offsets of around 16 looks quite nice. Note: There is a bug when using odd column offsets (e.g. column offset = 1). SLJ AG
