Katz, a new member from› Raleigh, NC and we'll get back to him› with answers to his questions. He's› a very interesting fellow. an› electronic engineer and is involved› with many different ideas.›› AL PEGLER, Club Librarian reports no› changes.›› PAT gave a brief report including› mention of the sale of JIM HARRIS's› home. ›› CORRESPONDENCE:›› RON FETZER showed letters from LARRY› TISHBEIN and a letter from COMPUTER› MAVEN who does free IBM lectures and› demos. RON also has a telefax from› ROBERT DE LETTER in Belgium who faxed› material about a European support› program including an original letter› from ARTHUR KATZ. Another letter› from LARRY TISHBEIN looking for a› simple database program and Ron sent› him a GT base which is as simple as› you can get. Also showed a letter› from PAUL EHRHART with his permisson› to use all his disks. Also 2› postcards from JOSEPH HICSWA who› needs more channels (you can open up› to 7 channels). THOMAS WRAY of› Texarkana wrote to ask if $39.95 per› month for Internet is good? (No!!)›› JACK led a short discussion about › various computers and disk drives and› how they work.›› DEMONSTRATIONS:›› RON FETZER demod a disk catalog of› all library files (over 17,000 files)› and all its features including› alphabetizing them. It's not› complete for the library yet but› RON's working on it.›› ALAN SHARKIS demod disks from SAN› LEANDRO COMPUTER CLUB (SLCC), on one› disk the menu includes games such as› Marblemania. Then we tried disk #1506› dated June 1977 which includes› PrintStar 2.05 and Amphibian, a game› called Shane and others. These disks› are numbered Library SLCC #1505 May› 1997 #687, and SLCC #1506 June 1997 › #688.›› JACK GEDALIUS had a demo calendar› that goes to the year 2010 and we› checked out a few future dates of› interest, Leap Year falls in the year› 2000. Dicussion followed about› changing all accounts in December› 1999 over to January 2000 and how and› why companies are planning to do› this.›› The next meeting (joint meeting with› LIAUG) will be on July 12th at the› usual place in the library and then› August 9th.›› No door prizes were given at this› meeting.›› o=o=o=o=o=›››
