This was the› final Newsletter ALAN SHARKIS› prepared as Editor.›› The meeting opened with JACK asking› for the Treasury Report.›› TREASURY:›› RON FETZER reported that the Treasury› is in the black.›› ALAN SHARKIS read an email he› received this morning from SAM CORY› who reported that he is sad to say› that JACG is having its last meeting› and he is giving away his equipment. › He feels the last meeting should be› taped. The meeting› came to a close at 3PM.›› OHAUG MEETING OF DEC. 8, 1999›› We met at Alan Sharkis' house. Ann› Sharkis provided us with a fabulous› lunch of bagels and all kinds of› fixings and coffee and cake.›› We heard that our librarian Harold› Pegler was in the hospital for two› weeks. He is now at home and feeling› better.›› Alan showed us how to make a disk› image of an atari disk using the› SIO2PC cable with his PC and 130XE.› His PC can show Atari disk and› programs on the PC. He can also› download disk images to the 130 XE.›› Alan is going into adatptive computer› instruction. He is a volunteer where› people with various disabilities are› learning how to operate a computer.› Alan is assembling various computer› hardware and software items to fit› the abilities of the people he is› working with.›› Alan closed his 8-Bit equipment and› gave it to the club and various› members of the club. In› addition we booted up the CD POOL› DISK TOO from Holland were we saw an› astounding array of materials all for› the 8-Bit. On› side one was a game called "Sea› Fighter". There is also a program to› build yourself a stereo computer with› 2 pokey chips. Then there was a› program called Build a Picture Viewer› which needs poky chip to run. The› disk includes an English explanation› which is very long and syntax codes› so that the IBM & the ATARI can› understand each other. It then› showed a pretty Xmas picture which› said Merry Xmas 1999 to from all› Bitbiter Members but there was no› music with it.››› RON then demoed Sonder (Special)› Magazine #26 which had a program› simulating Windows 130XE including› docufiles, a menu, symbols which you› can add to or remove and sort. Works› like Windows 2000.(Ha! HA!). It has a› disk drive with sectors and fonts and› icons. Its all in German and would› have to be translated. It probably› has very little memory programming› memory left. There were similar› programs like this one called Diamond› O.S. The members will bring it in to› demonstrate at a future meeting. On› side 2 was Wave Player which plays PC› sounds which comes from Tom Hunt, an› American programer which was› translated into German but it needs› Spartados to work.
