›› JUST A PHONE CALL!› by› ALEX PIGNATO››Sometimes something will happen that›will "MAKE YOUR DAY (or NIGHT)". Two›nights back, I received a phone call›that really made me feel good. The›call was from none other than BOB›BRODIE, ATARI'S traveling medicine›man. Yup, BOB had just come back from›one of his many trips "HAWKING" the›ATARI products, and doing great job›of spreading gobs of good will for his›employers! He had been to ROCHESTER,›N.Y., and to PITTSBURGH, PA. and GOD›nows where else, and was now home and›catching his breath before flying out›again.››BOB is without a doubt, the best USERS›GROUP coordinator that ATARI has or›probably will ever have! His›experience as a user, club member, and›club president, all combine to make›him the best friend that the users›clubs could ever hope for, because he›has been there.››As we chatted, he honored all the 8›BITTERS, by saying how much he admired›us for our clearcut devotion to our 8›BIT ATARI's in spite of the lack of›commercial support! He said that there›were only about 10 8 BIT clubs›throughout the good ol U.S. of A.. To›the other 9 CLUBS, if you are reading›this column, take heart, don't›despair, for you are not alone, and as›long as there are individuals who love›the 8 BIT, there will be programmers›coming up with software.››One of a new batch of user made soft-›ware is a program called "WQNRDOS",›made by none other than our own KRIS›HOLTEGAARD, and what a DOS it is. It›can do all that DOS 2.5 can do and at›the same time can use some SPARTADOS›commands as well. You have to see it›to believe it. KRIS also made a couple›other programs that he hopes will also›sell, such as his "WQNR VCR LABELER",›and his "WQNR UTILITIES" program. Then›there is ROY GOLDMAN, who came out›with his new "DAISY DOT III", which he›is selling. You can write to KRIS›HOLTEGAARD for a listing of his›programs and their prices:›› KRIS HOLTEGAARD› P.O. Box 533› Selden, N.Y. 11784››Getting back to BOB BRODIE, suffice it›to say that he gave me and through me,›my 8 BIT club a real moral booster!›BOB, I thank you for thinking of us 8›BIT peons. I was beginning to think›that we were out of the ATARI Company›mainstream, and thoughts, but his call›changed that. If you read this, THANKS›BOB.› BYE for now!› ›
