=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-› The WQNR Software› Updates› Selden, NY 11784› June 1990›=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-›› Welcome All!›› Welcome to the first issue of the›WQNR Software news Update. In this›news letter we will disscuss problems›that you might be having with any one›of WQNR's software products. We will›also keep you apprised as to new›developments and updates to any of›WQNR's existing and forthcomming›products.›› Attenion All!!› WQNRDos Owners›› As you all know by now there has›been a massive update to the WQNRDos›Shell program. We are now up to›version 3.0. If you have bought›WQNRDos and you would like to get an›update just send your Master Disk›along with a check or money order›(send NO cash) made out to Kris›Holtegaard in the amount of $2.00 for›shipping and handling and send it to›the following address:›› WQNR› P.O. Box 533/33 Roslyn Ave› Selden, New York 11784›› Here is what you'll get on the›update disk.› On Side One› DOS SYS 037 DUP SYS 042› AUTORUN SYS 001 AUTORUN COM 001› INIT PRG 041 WQNR DOS 119› RAMDISK COM 009 SCREEN MOD 003› TD MOD 009 TDSET MOD 004› UTILINE MOD 003 NUMSLINEMOD 003› UTILITY BAS 038 NUMS 025›372 FREE SECTORS› On Side Two›DOS SYS 037 DUP SYS 042›WQNRDOS DOC 425 203 FREE SECTORS›› There now is more than meets the›with this updated version of WQNRDos›you are really getting you money's›worth.›› Module Loader›› WQNRDos can now run modular›programs in a window of about 8k. If›you have a small program you can load›it in and run while you still have›WQNRDos loaded and still have FULL Dos›support functions as well. You just›have to make some modifications to›your modular program to interface with›it. You can even write your own›modular programs The WQNRDos›documentation explains how to do it›all. There are FIVE Modules included›on side one of the WQNRDos disk with›the extender MOD. The documentation›will tell you more about them and›that's on side two.›› RTIME8 Support›› No matter what type of DOS you›use WQNRDos fully supports ICD's›RTIME8 cartridge. All you have to do›is own the RTIME8 cart and use the›file RTIM8.COM and your all set. But›if your a SpartaDos user you all ready›have that support built into WQNRDos.›Other Atari Dos users have to use The›RTIME8.COM file.›› More Commands›› There are more commands than any›Dos and Wedge 2.1 combined. With over›65 commands you yourself add more at›anytime you wish just by writing a›line module and loading it in and›saving it back out with the latest›command(s) you installed. It's that›simple.›› The Copy Buffer›› WQNRDos has the LARGEST copy›buffer of any program or Dos for your›ATARI 8-Bit computer. WQNRDos' is a›variable buffer. It will adjust its›size to what ever utilities you load›in upon boot up after Dos. The more›utilities the smaller the copy buffer.›Example while Beta testing WQNRDos we›had at one time the following files›loaded in other then DOS.›› We had and still do load in›RD.COM, TDLINE.COM, CONF.COM,›WEDGE.COM,BATDOER.COM, BMENU.WDA and›still have a copy buffer of 16,412›Bytes. Now without any utilities›loaded in you have a copy buffer of›17,436 bytes. So with all those›utilities loaded it in there is only›1,024 bytes taken away form WQNRDos'›copy buffer.›› Now when you load in a Module the›smallest copy buffer will still be›over 8k. But when you clear the module›out of memory you not have your full›size copy buffer back.›
