 Two Karanga forces held power in the region around the great city of Zimbabwe in the 1400's. The Karanga people established the Mwanamutapa Empire in the region. During the late 1400's, a group of Karanga rebels known as the Rozwi rebelled and established the competing Changamire Empire. The Changamire Empire eventually overshadowed the Mwanamutapa.
