To send a digitally signed and/or encrypted message

Digitally signed e-mail allows an e-mail recipient to verify your identity. Encrypting an e-mail message prevents other people from reading it when it is in transit.

1. Compose a message.
2. To digitally sign a message, on the Tools menu, click Digitally Sign.

3. To encrypt the message, on the Tools menu, click Encrypt.

• You must have a digital ID to digitally sign or encrypt mail. If you do not have one, Outlook Express will ask if you want to get one.
