The Witch's Point of View of Hansel and Gretel

by Michael (9)

Once upon a time there lived a dirty, stinky girl and boy called Hansel and Gretel.

"Hi."
The witch is speaking here and you all know, well I hope you all know, the story of Hansel and Gretel.  Well it is completely and utterly untrue.

Now, here is the real story.

One day these horrible parents left their children in the woods because:

So these children set off and this is where I come in.

I always love having guests and I don't get any so that's why I made my house of sweets - to attract people.  So they started eating and I thought: yes guests.  So I invited them in and before I say any more I want to say I am a witch but I'm retired and I don't believe in being horrible to people.
Now to continue …

So we talked a lot over tea and biscuits.  It got late and it was a one bedroom house so Hansel would sleep in a cage and Gretel would sleep on the floor. Suddenly, just as Hansel was getting in the cage, my hand slipped and I locked the lock and I couldn't open it again.  And suddenly I was pushed into the pot of steaming red hot water which was for the next cup of tea. Then Gretel got my sledge hammer (that I should have thought of earlier) to open the cage.  She smashed the cage open with a massive crash.  Then they were off.

So now I have a horrible scaly mashed sick face and then they write the false version of Hansel and Gretel.
But you know the real version.
