The Word Warrior's Armoury

'The pen is mightier than the sword.'

Is this true? Used properly, written words can certainly be powerful.

They can make you:

shed a tear;
gnash your teeth in anger;
hide beneath the bed in fear;
laugh so loudly that the top of your head almost falls off;
or feel that you really have been transported to another world.

On the other hand, written words may be as useless as a box of tissues when you're trying to mop up the Pacific Ocean.

There are many ways in which you can improve your writing. You obviously want to be a better Word Warrior (or you wouldn't be here) so how about having a peek at our armoury to see if you can find something useful there?
