Welcome to DROP OUT: The Haight-Ashbury Experience DROP OUT is a game that can be played by up to six players. Imagine that you've just arrived in the Haight in the early sixties, and you're here to attain the elusive goal of enlightenment. You do this by gathering points in four attributes (represented on the game board by four concentric rings). These attributes are Food & Shelter, Hipness, Spirituality, and Love. You start at the food & shelter ring. When you have collected 100 food & shelter points, you automatically advance to the next ring. The first player to reach the love ring and collect 100 love points becomes enlightened. At that point, the enlightenment sequence begins. This sequence is similar in some respects, and different in other respects, for each player, and for each time you win. When you start a game, the cards are shuffled and the hand points to the deck for you to pick a card. The cards are as follows: Aqua - Chet Helms collage Blue - Janis Joplin collage Green - Neal Cassady collage Lime - Allen Ginsberg collage Orange - Pig Pen collage Pink - Allen Cohen collage Purple - Bill Graham collage Red - Ken Kesey collage Yellow - Mike Ferguson collage Gold - Grace Slick collage Joker - Grateful Dead collage Joker - Haight-Ashbury collage (Collages by Alton Kelley) After picking as many cards as there are players (you can pick up to 6 cards for 6 different players), click the moving hand to start the game. At the beginning of the game, the colored pieces are lined up on the right, and the first player is on top. Start the first turn by clicking on the blinking game piece. The piece moves into position to start play. You then click on the spinner at the center of the board. Each spin can result in a number, a draw card, or a loss of a turn.
