Back when Fox Box II was relatively avant-garde it attracted some media attention:-

• Used in BBC Television's "The Net" show on May 15th, 1995.
• Cool Site of the Day on March 17th 1995
• Used in AGFA's advertising material
• Loitered for a couple of years on Netscape's "What's Cool?" page.
• Cited by HotWired, PointCast's (pointless) Top 5%, Starting Point, etc.

Technical Notes

Fox Box III was created on the mighty-and-free Linux operating system, using the powerful-and-free GNU program Emacs for markup/programming and the awesome-and-free GNU Image Manipulation Program ('GIMP') for imagery. Animation was created with the cool-and-free raytracer POVray. Don't pay for anything which doesn't do a better job for less money! ;o)
Every page of Fox Box III has been checked for use with the Lynx browser, and is perfectly functional with such. These pages have some frills for recent Netscape browsers, but should work fine on any browser. The Fox Box III web serving is handled by an Apple Mac, a Sparc 5, and sometimes a Sparc 20. Welcome to the lost world of interoperability!
