Document Windows
Document windows are the windows in which Microsoft Internet Explorer displays documents or Web pages.
Multiple document windows (instances of Microsoft Internet Explorer)
can be open at the same time. You can work with each
window independently. For example, you can read a document in
one window while loading files in others.
Parts of a Document Window
- The title bar displays the title, if any, of the current
document.
- The menu bar offers access to all of the Microsoft
Internet Explorer commands.
- The toolbar provides quick access
to frequently used functions. To hide the toolbar, choose Toolbar
from the View menu.
- Use the Back and Forward buttons to move between
documents that you have viewed.
- The Address box displays the address, or URL,
of the current page. If you know the address of the page you want
to view, type it in the Address box, and then press ENTER.
- The status bar displays status information while a
file is being loaded. As you move the mouse pointer over a link,
the status bar displays the address associated with the link. When
you move the pointer over a toolbar button, the function
of the button appears in the status bar.
To open a new Microsoft Internet Explorer window
- From the File menu, choose New Window.
