To uninstall Outlook Express

If you encounter problems that you cannot resolve, it is often beneficial to uninstall Outlook Express and then reinstall it. This procedure replaces files that might have been damaged.

1. In Windows, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

• When uninstalling Outlook Express 5, the messages you received in Outlook Express 5 remain in the Outlook Express 5 message files. If you were previously running Outlook Express 4 or Internet Mail and News, only the messages you received in those programs will be there after uninstall. To import messages received in Outlook Express 5 into Outlook Express 4, click the File menu, point to Import, and then click Messages. Follow the on-screen instructions.
