Running the demo When you first begin the demo, an introductory movie will begin. The movie gives you a taste of the mysterious storyline that you will be part of while playing Byzantine. In subsequent uses of the demo, you may click on the video at any time to bypass it. After the into video, you be shown the opening menu screen, from which there are three choices A. **Overview** By clicking on the Overview button, you can learn more about Byzantine: The Betrayal and the Planet Explorer brand. a. The PX Line selection tells you all about Planet Explorer, where it's come from and where it's going. b. The Features selection gives you information on some specific cool things that make Byzantine the unique adventure game that it is. c. Didn't get enough plot information from the opening video? No problem, just click on the Synopsis button to find out more! d. And finally, the System button lets you know what kind of computer is needed to play Byzantine: The Betrayal. B. **Map** Clicking on the Map button from the main menu takes you to a map of Istanbul, much like the one that you use to travel in the game. Although there are many more locations in the game itself, in this demo you can visit three real life locations in Istanbul. Access each location by using the mouse pointer and clicking on the highlighted location you wish to visit. When you click on a location, you are transported to a 360 degree panoramic view. By using the arrow buttons at the bottom of the screen, you can scroll around the view and look all around your current location. Keep in mind that in the final game, moving around in these views is completely free-moving and fluid (graphics had to be scaled down for the demo). Click on the map button to return to the map view. Once you have returned to the map view, you can either return to the main menu by clicking on the Menu button or quit the demo by clicking on the Quit button. C. **Gallery** Byzantine has the most realistic graphics ever seen in a computer adventure game. Shot on location in Istanbul, these are a sampling of the rich world you will enter in Byzantine. By clicking on the Gallery button, you begin a slideshow that can be ended at any time by clicking on any graphic.
