These products will provide you with many hours of enjoyment and both games should run on nearly all IBM PC's or clones. If you are experiencing any difficulties, you may find the answer to your question here in the next several screens. SOUND & MUSIC Sound effects are created either by your internal speaker or by your Adlib or Sound Blaster compatible sound card. Monkey 2 was our first product to incorporate our patented iMuseTM interactive music system. Monkey 2 is best experienced with either an Adlib TM, Sound Blaster TM, or Roland TM compatible sound card. If you do not have a Sound Blaster TM or 100% compatible sound card, you may not be able to fully enjoy the benefits of digital sounds and FM music. TROUBLESHOOTING This section will provide you with some solutions to gamers' most common technical problems. A majority of all sound problems encountered in a game have to do with hardware communications. This means that either 1) your game thinks your hardware is configured in some way other than it really is, or 2) your sound card itself is depending on either a PORT, an IRQ number, or a DMA channel which is being used by another device in your system, or 3) (If running in DOS mode under Windows 95) you may not have all your sound card DOS drivers loaded, or 4) your sound card may not be 100% Sound Blaster compatible. Unfortunately, hardware configuration problems are not always obvious. Your game may appear to play music and sound effects just fine, and then, at some unexpected moment, the sound may stop, or the game may "lock up." This is often not the fault of the game, but a hardware conflict that didn't occur until the game used the hardware in a particular way. Finally -- and this is extremely important -- just because Game A works with your configuration and Game B won't, does not necessarily mean the problem is in Game B. It may be that Game B uses capabilities of the hardware that Game A doesn't, and is therefore more likely to run into problems with your hardware configuration. If you don't know how to resolve a sound card problem, first consult the documentation provided with your sound card. Sound card manufacturers often provide diagnostic programs with their cards. If you are still encountering difficulties, see the Technical Support section on the next screen. If you are playing Monkey 1 or 2 under Windows 95 and choose to minimize the game by using the ALT-TAB combination, you may notice that game music continues to play while viewing your Desktop. If you don't want to hear music when the game is minimized, pause the game before hitting ALT-TAB.
