gmax.ini File

The file gmax uses to store settings between sessions is named gmax.ini. It can be found in the root directory of the gmax installation.

Tip: If you encounter unusual and unexplained user-interface problems using gmax, try deleting the gmax.ini file and restarting. gmax writes a new gmax.ini file to replace the deleted one. Often this will fix problems related to the state of the user interface.

You can make changes to gmax startup conditions by directly editing the gmax.ini file using Notepad. If you do try and edit the file by hand, be sure to maintain the structure and syntax of the original file.

Start-up conditions are also defined by the gmaxstart.gmax file. To save any particular start-up condition, create a GMAX file with the condition present and then save it as gmaxstart.gmax. gmax will automatically use this file when you start the software.
