Speech is the oldest form of human communication, but its use in the
computer age has been hampered by limitations on voice compression, and
problems with data transmission. Voxware,Inc. has developed new ways to
overcome these problems.

The Voxware Solution

Voxware's products deliver high quality speech, at the highest
compression rates in the industry. Voxware has also developed solutions
to speech transmission problems like packet loss, network delay and
out-of-sequence conditions, further reducing the choppiness and delay
found with conventional voice compressors. Voxware's products are used

products is its unique MetaVoice coding technology. MetaVoice is a
patent-pending system that creates an accurate, mathematical model of
human speech, rather than the conventional system of compressing the

Voxware's Product Line

Voxware develops and markets two types of products. Its software

ToolVox is a set of tools for creating and playing sound files on the
Internet. It has two components, an Encoder and Player. The Encoder is
used to create highly compressed voice files,which are added to Web
pages using standard HTML tags. The Player lets users listen to voice on
Web pages, and is available as a Netscape Navigator plug-in, or as a
stand-alone helper application. A free version of ToolVox is available
for downloading. The ToolVox Encoder can also be purchased in a Gold
version, which features improved sound quality, batch compression
and the ability to embed MIDI files, for streaming background music with
voice clips. ToolVox Gold also includes Voxware's VoiceFonts
transformation technology.

Voxware's Voice Development Kit (VDK) provides all the components
required for developers to incorporate Voxware's powerful speech
compression in their applications. The Voice Development Kit includes a
library of functions which support use of the RT24 and RT29HQ codecs to
add high quality voice elements to communications, business, consumer or
game products. Both Windows and Macintosh versions of Voxware's Voice
Development Kit are available for license.
