David manages and controls databases which can contain different
object types (E-mails, faxes, voice files, files, links, etc.).
This information can be accessed in various ways (LAN access,
phone access, fax access, Web access). We call the result
»Universal Access Multimedia Archive«.
Just like Tobit FaxWare, David has a modular structure and consists
of several 32-bit multitasking/multithreading modules. David integrates for
example an efficient
fax-on-demand
server providing the services fax-on-demand, fax back and fax
polling. You can directly access your multimedia archive
by means of fax-on-demand.
Access to your information is also possible by phone. You can for
example make David »read out« your E-mails or other important information
by means of the integrated text-to-speech technology. In addition, David
can be used as a »personal answering machine« with remote
inquiry.
By means of the Web server integrated in David, you can access your
multimedia archive with every Web browser and from any place in
the world. You can view faxes or E-mails or listen to your voice
messages. David's E-mail server offers complete Internet mail functions.

As a communication server David is required everywhere where asynchronous
communication (store and forward) takes place by means of any
media (phone, fax, electronic mail, World Wide Web, etc.).

With this short introduction of David we want to show
you that you are on the right way with Tobit FaxWare 4 as far
as future compatibility is concerned. Today you perhaps only wish
to fax, but tomorrow you might wish to use E-Mail or voice functions.
The worst thing that could happen to you is a new installation
of the software, as the products cannot be extended. With Tobit
FaxWare 4 this is different. You will always have the possibility
to change from FaxWare 4 to David. David contains all above-mentioned
components. Simply choose the components you require. An extension is no
problem at all!
