How to scan a selected object

You can select an object for scanning using Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal or standard Windows tools (for example, Windows Explorer or My Computer, etc.)

In order to scan an object selected using standard Windows tools

select and right-click the object you wish to scan, then select the Scan for viruses option in the shortcut menu that will open.

In order to select an object using Kaspersky Anti-Virus,

Follow the Scan objects link located in the left section of the Protection tab. A Select Objects to Scan window will open. This window contains the list of objects that can be scanned for viruses, and is equipped with interface buttons for editing this list and controlling the scan.
Select the objects you wish to scan.
If you wish to add a new object to the list, press the Add button and select the required file or folder in the standard Select File dialog box that will open.
Press the Scan button to start the scan.
