BiZiLink is FREE.
BiZiLink is a community program that aims to improve the skills level of secondary students in new and emerging technologies. BiZiLink involves students contacting a local business, charity, sporting club or community organisation and creating a website for them using BiZiWorks software. BiZiWorks software is free and in association with The Education Business we have developed a series of lesson plans that can be used in the classroom with this project.
How do we get BiZiLink working in our school?
Simply click registration and fill out the form on the BiZilink webs-site and your school can participate in BiZiLink. Once you submit this form we will build your school a host site. A host site is a web site that allows teachers to have complete control of the work being generated by students. Student cannot publish their sites until the teacher authorisation has been granted.
Objectives:
Skills in using the internet as a business communications tool
How businesses and other organisations work: how they make marketing decisions and how they work out what their clients need.
Teamwork and presentation skills
How to contribute to the local community.
Students learn valuable skills in web building that will be essential in the new information economy.
Students work on real life projects. Working with clients throughout the development process gives students valuable project management experience.
Teachers have a complete education program that has the flexibility to be taught in Computer, Business and Social Studies classes.
