Unable to delete file

A temporary decrypted copy of an encrypted file is in use by another application, and WinZip® is unable to delete it.

When you open or view an encrypted file using another application, WinZip must create a decrypted copy of the file in a temporary location on your disk. Normally, this temporary file is automatically deleted when you close WinZip.

If, however, the file is still being used by the other application, WinZip may be unable to delete it. Closing WinZip now will result in a decrypted copy of your encrypted file remaining on your disk.

The dialog shows the name of the file that WinZip cannot delete.

To delete the file, first close the application that is using the file, then click Try Again. WinZip will delete the file and then close.

To close WinZip without deleting the file, click Continue. WinZip will close and the unencrypted file will remain on disk. You can delete the file manually when you are done with it; it will be located in your Windows temporary folder.

To return to WinZip, click Cancel. WinZip will remain open, and the temporary copy of the file will remain on your disk. WinZip will try again to delete the file when it closes.
