System Requirements:

A 100% Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows 2000 DirectX6 compatible
Computer.
Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows 2000 operating system.
PCI Graphicboard with a minimum of 2 MB RAM.
Pentium 200MMX or faster.
32MB RAM (Memory) or more.
4x CD-ROM drive or faster.
100% DirectX 6 compatible sound card.
100% Windows 95/98 or Windows 2000 compatible mouse and keyboard.
Microsoft DirectX 6 must be installed to play Alien Nations.
It might be that your system requires some newer Windows driver
for some of your hardware components.
For the installation process you need a minimum of 150 MB free
disk space.
You will need an additional disk space (a minimum of 100 MB) for
the system swapfile. The less system memory your computer has (RAM)
the more diskspace is needed.

The speed of your computer is not as important as the amount of
free system memory (RAM). The more RAM your computer has, the
faster Alien Nations will run.

If your fonts are set to "Large Fonts" the Start Menu might be
displayed twice as large as usual, i.e. you might not be able to
read all of the text of the menu.

General:
--------
Please close all (!) other applications before you start the game.

Switching between applications during the game can cause a system
crash. Please don't switch applications before quitting.

Technical problems:
-------------------
If the game crashes immediately after the intro, please install
DirectMedia6 manually. Because of a missing function of
DirectMedia the system could tell you that it's already installed
even if you just have version 5.2 and not 6.0. In such a case just
start the installer of Alien Nations again, click at install
DXMedia6 and confirm the installation always.

With AWE64 soundcards some system configurations could cause
problems which could also cause a system crash if you are using
the AWE 64 driver.
In such a case please install the AWE 32 driver. This driver does
not reduce the functions and speed of your soundcard. Other products
could run more stable, too.

If you have a graphic board of a newer series (e.g. with a
Banshee chip) graphic errors and lines could appear during
scrolling. This will happen if you don't use the bug-fixed
drivers. Either you install the latest driver version for your
graphic board or you enter the graphics menu in Alien Nations
and set "scroll optimization" to OFF.
