You need only tell the WinZip self- extractor where to find SpecOps. For most people, this is c:\Program Files\Zombie\SpecOps (if you installed the game to a different directory, give WinZip the directory into which you installed SpecOps). The patch contains 10 files: level1.zsb level2.zsb level3.zsb level4.zsb level5.zsb startup.zsb endMission.zsb spec3DFX.exe specRW.exe readme03.txt These should all be dated 5/15. ---------------------------------------------------- OpenGL and 3D Audio Patches are Coming! ---------------------------------------------------- Look for an OpenGL version of SPEC OPS soon. This version will support RIVA 128, Permedia, NVidia, and Rendition cards that are OpenGL compatible. Aureal is porting SPEC OPS to support their A3D standard for 3D audio (Monster 3D Soundcards). All Rights Reserved. ---------------------------------------------------- Troubleshooting ---------------------------------------------------- HEADER/BINARY VERSION CONFLICT If this error appears at any time during play, your SpecOps installation has a mixture of old and new files. Go to your SpecOps directory and check the dates for the following files: level1.zsb level2.zsb level3.zsb level4.zsb level5.zsb startup.zsb endMission.zsb spec3DFX.exe specRW.exe All should have the same dates. If any are dated differently, it pre-dates the current patch. Hand-delete these 9 files from your SpecOps folder and re-install the patch. After patching, verify that all 9 files have been copied into the SpecOps folder and have similar dates. If the error persists, email markk@zombie.com (two k's in the address).
