POSIX Utilities

The POSIX Utilities, a suite of UNIX-like command-line tools, have been recompiled to operate on Microsoft® Windows® 2000.

The Windows 2000 Resource Kit also includes Win32 clones of seven of the POSIX Utilities.

Caution

Different versions of FIND, MKDIR, and RMDIR (POSIX utilities) are included with Windows 2000. You should rename the POSIX versions of these so there is no confusion.

Files Required

• These tools are located in the <cdroot>\Apps\Posix directory of the Windows 2000 Resource Kit companion CD. See Installing POSIX Utilities for installation information.
