Clippool.exe: Clip PoolNEW


ClipPool allows you to transparently share a single logical clipboard among many computers. With ClipPool installed, you can easily copy and paste data between many computers. For example, a debugger trace on one computer can be copied into an e-mail message on another computer. The tool is run from its icon in the status area .

Using ClipPool

After installing ClipPool, you'll see a tiny "clipboard" icon in the status area near the clock. This icon indicates the current state of ClipPool.

If you right-click the clipboard icon, you'll see a short menu. This has options for closing ClipPool, and for opening the Windows clipboard viewer (Clipbrd.exe). Double-clicking the clipboard icon also opens the clipboard viewer.

Clipboard viewer... In Windows 2000, Clipboard Viewer has been renamed Clipbook Viewer. ClipBook Viewer shows you the information you have copied to the Clipboard.
Info... Tells you if this computer is a ClipPool server or client, and which port is being used.
About... Version information about ClipPool.
Close Exit ClipPool.

To transfer clipboard data between computers, use the normal cut, copy, and paste operations from your application software. The clipboard contents will be available among all computers.

Limitations

ClipPool currently only supports standard Windows clipboard formats. This includes text, bitmaps, metafiles, and .wav files. ClipPool does not support complex items such formatted text and embedded objects.
