Checkers International allows you to play many different variations of Checkers (also known, perhaps more popularly, as Draughts), from Alquerque--the oldest living variation of checkers--to English Draughts--one of the most popular games today worldwide.

Remember, Checkers International is Shareware--if you plan to keep it, please register it. Registration costs a mere US$20; when you register, you'll receive a 16-digit registration code that unlocks the ability to create and play customized variation of checkers. (The registration code will be valid for all future versions of Checkers International, so hang on to it.) You'll also automatically be added to random's mailing list for registered users, so you'll get notified when a new version is released.

What's New in Version 1.1
You can now undo your moves, to step back and try a different technique to beat the Titan strategy engine--Checkers International's computer opponent. Checkers International now plays by the standard third-repetition draw rule. Checkers International now warns you if the current video mode cannot be used to play a particular variation. A few minor problems were fixed that previously may have prevented you from pitting the computer against itself.		Have some ideas for new features for the next version of Checkers International? Software Requirements

Checkers International requires the following in order to run:

Microsoft Windows 95 (or 98, or later) or Windows NT 4.0 (or 5.0, or later)

Microsoft DirectX Runtime version 5 (you can download this from Microsoft--it's about 3.5MB--but you may have it already, because most recent games require it as well)

A video card capable of displaying at least a resolution of 800x600 at 256-colors; Polish Draughts requires at least 1024x768 at 256-colors.

A mouse; Checkers International cannot be played with the keyboard
