Hardware
Tweaks
Tweak-XP offers several
options to tweak your hardware. It includes tweaks for the most common CPUs and
several display adaptors. Just make your selection from the hardware list and
'Tweak-It'. Remember that you'll have to restart Windows to activate the tweaks.

- CPU tweaks: These
options will optimize the speed of your CPU under Windows. Chose the CPU you
got installed. If you want to disable the CPU tweak, click the 'Disable
tweaks !' button.
- Display adaptor tweaks:
there are tweaks available for the most comman display adaptors -
... more display
adaptor tweaks will be added
with future releases of Tweak-XP.
- CD / DVD Tweaks:
click this button to open the CD
/ DVD tweaks section of Tweak-XP. You can optimize some cache settings for
your CD or DVD drive, and you can disable the autorun feature of CDs.
For best results you should use a large cache on systems with at least 64 MB
of RAM. On a 32 MB system you should use a medium cache size.
Tell Tweak-XP the speed of your CD / DVD drive by selecting the right
option. You should choose values that come near to the real speed of your
drive (on a 36x CD Rom you should choose 40x).

- UDMA66 Mode / Intel
chipsets: this button
will open the UDMA66 Mode for Intel chipsets tweak window. If you have a computer with an Intel chipset that supports UDMA66, you will still find that UDMA66 mode is disabled by default on Windows XP computers.
ATTENTION: Before you enable UDMA66 mode make sure that the device supports UDMA66 mode and use an 80-pin IDE cable with the proper pin cut.
- Open optimization wizard:
this button will display the Tweak-XP optimization wizard. The Tweak-XP System-Optimization Wizard offers a 'One-Mouseclick' system performance optimization. Without browsing through hundreds of registry settings and tweaks you can easily improve the all-in-all performance of your computer. Let Tweak-XP do the work of setting the best tweaks for your machine ! Remember that you have to restart your machine after optimizing your system to make the changes take effect.
