Autostarts

This function of Tweak-XP was included to control all programs which are executed on each start of Windows. You can browse through the list of autostarts in the Windows registry and the autostartfolder of the startmenu. Select any entry you don't want to be executed on Windows start and delete it. Or create your own new autostarts.
Programs which are executed by the registry-autostart-list are listed in the first listbox of the autostart control-feature of Tweak-XP. The second list displays all programs which are executed by the autostart folder of the Windows startmenu.

Instructions:
  • Choose an entry from one of the lists.
  • By selecting an autostart entry, name and link are displayed in the 'Title' and 'Path' fields.
  • As soon as one entry was selected, you can remove it from the autostart list by clicking the 'Delete selected entry' button.

Current user ? All users ?

  • The 'Current user' button loads all autostart registry entries which are executed when the current user starts Windows XP. The 'Current user' registry autostarts are saved in the autostart section of the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key of the Windows XP registry.
  • The 'All users' button loads all autostart registry entries which are executed everytime Windows XP is launched. The 'All users' registry autostarts are saved in the autostart section of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key of the Windows XP registry.

How to create a new autostart entry:

  • Enter name and path of your new entry to the corresponding fields ('Title' and 'Path').
  • Choose where to create the new autostart entry: you can either create it in the autostartfolder of the Windows registry or in the autostartfolder of the Windows startmenu.

Up from the next start of Windows, your new autostarts will be activated.
