Save data as a Web Part for use in a digital dashboard

Save an interactive Web Part

  1. Open the workbook that contains the item you want to publish as a Web Part for your digital dashboard.
  2. Click Save as Web Page on the File menu.

  3. Click Publish.

  4. Click the item you want to publish in the Choose list under Item to publish.

  5. Check the Add Interactivity with box under Viewing options and select the type of interactivity you want.

  6. In the File name box, type the URL of the digital dashboard to which you want to save the part followed by the file name for the Web Part. For example, type http://server/share/dashboard_folder/name.htm.
  7. Click Publish

    Depending on how the server where the digital dashboard resides is configured, you may need to log in to the server before continuing.

  8. In the Name box on the Web File Properties form, type the name for the Web Part.
  9. In the Description box, type a brief description for the Web Part.
  10. To immediately add the Web Part to the dashboard, select Include this Web Part on the dashboard. If you clear this check box, the Web Part will be saved to the dashboard folder, but will not be displayed until you click Content on the dashboard Web page and choose to add it to the dashboard.
  11. Specify the default position for the Web Part, and then click OK.

Save a noninteractive Web Part

  1. Click Save as or Save as Web Page on the File menu.

  2. In the File name box, type the URL of the digital dashboard to which you want to save the part and the file name for the Web Part. For example, type http://server/share/dashboard_folder/name.htm.

  3. Click Save.

    Depending on how the server where the digital dashboard resides is configured, you may need to log in to the server before continuing.

  4. In the Name box on the Web File Properties form, type the name for the Web Part.
  5. In the Description box, type a brief description for the Web Part.
  6. To immediately add the Web Part to the dashboard, select Include this Web Part on the dashboard. If you clear this check box, the Web Part will be saved to the dashboard folder, but will not be displayed until you click Content on the dashboard Web page and choose to add it to the dashboard.
  7. Specify the default position for the Web Part, and then click OK.
