Microsoft Publisher traps TrueType fonts on all Microsoft Windows platforms. Publisher traps PostScript Type I fonts only if you’re running Windows NT or Windows 2000 and have Adobe Type Manager (ATM) installed. To see trapping details for characters with different colors or multiple text formats, you must select each individual character.
Also, Publisher does not trap text formatted with outline, underline, shadow, engrave, or emboss effects.
Publisher only creates traps when you print separations. To print separations, you must set up the publication for process- or spot-color printing (Tools menu, Commercial Printing Tools, Color Printing).
Override default trapping settings for selected objects or text
If you choose multiple objects or text characters, the Setting box displays the trapping settings common to all selected objects.
If the trapping settings are unavailable, it means you cannot specify settings because the selected objects or text have conflicting trapping relationships.
The settings you apply for an object or text apply to all colors the object or text overlaps.
