How?
On the Objects toolbar, click Text Box or
Vertical Text Box
.
In the publication, point to where you want one corner of the text to appear, and then drag diagonally until the box is the size that you want.
Tip
If you want to copy and paste more than one section of text, use the Office Clipboard.
Insert

How?
On the Objects toolbar, click Text Box
or Vertical Text Box

In the publication, point to where you want one corner of the text to appear, and then drag diagonally until the box is the size you want.
If you do not see the name of the file you want to import text from, you may need to change the folder or drive.
Note If the text you're importing doesn't fit in the text box, Publisher might ask if you want to use autoflow for the remaining text.
Add
text from non-Windows based-files
Although you can not directly cut and past from a non-windows-based file, you can save the file in another format and then cut and paste from it.
For information on saving a file as Plain Text or Rich Text Format, see the documentation for that program.
